The Gingerbread Man

In an era where American cinema was defined by its relationship to best selling authors (e.g. Michael Crichton's Jurrassic Park) this story needs no other plot than the remarkable Savannah production itself. Based on a manuscript *discarded* by Jonh Grisham, the thriller called on the expertise of Kenneth Branagh and a Robert Downey Jr. fresh out of substance rehab to which he would never return. The remarkable nature didn't end with production. Director Robert Altman sparred fiercely with producers during post-production. The film you might catch today is entirely contingent.
